Our Advice on Responding to the Consultation
The Regulation 19, or Publication, stage of the local plan process is the last chance for the public to have a formal say before it goes to a Government Inspector. On this page we explain how to respond, and - importantly - what to say to make your response actually count.
⏰ The deadline is Tuesday 8th September 2026
This is the final public consultation on the South Warwickshire Local Plan. After 8 September, the plan goes to a Government Inspector and there is no further chance for residents to comment. Please don't leave it too late.
Our Advice
You should also read our recent newsletters as they outline some of the significant issues with the proposed new settlement. They are on our Latest News and Newsletter Archive pages.
This is the official guidance on using the consultation portal taken from the SWLP website where a video is also available:

A few dos and don'ts
-
Do write in your own words - identical copied responses are counted as one.
-
Do stick to planning points: traffic, infrastructure, Green Belt, the Plan contradicting itself.
-
Don't worry about technical language - plain English is fine.
-
Don't feel you must cover everything.
-
Don't miss the deadline: 11:59 pm on 8th September 2026.
