Third Call for Sites
Alongside the Preferred Options Consultation the Councils' conducted a Third Call for Sites exercise. Landowners were invited to identify land which was:
-
within or adjacent to one of the 12 potential new settlement locations;
-
for Gypsies and Travellers / Travelling Showpeople;
-
for commercial or community led renewable energy generation.
The sites submitted during this exercise were added to the SWLP Interactive Map during June 2025.
Where are the additional sites?
A massive amount of land has been put forward in the Hatton and Beausale area - adjacent to B1. The sites affect Hatton, Shrewley and Beausale, Haseley, Honiley and Wroxall parishes. This is a very worrying development.
This is a screenshot of the area, taken from the SWLP Interactive Map, showing the existing boundaries of B1 and SG07 and the new sites that have been put forward for consideration.

Important Notes
This is a worrying development but:
-
Sites submitted through the 3rd Call for Sites have not yet undergone the HELAA Site Assessment process. The inclusion of a site on the map is not an endorsement by the SWLP Team of the site, nor an indication of likely allocation in the SWLP. Site assessment will be undertaken in due course.
-
In the Preferred Options Consultation B1 was identified as only one of 12 potential new settlements. Not all of the potential new settlements will be needed. Hopefully the volume and quality of objections will mean that B1 will not appear in the next draft of the SWLP.
